Tricking Avid into thinking my storage is NEXIS emulated

    Hey all

As the subject implies I'm trying to find a software solution to making Avid think I'm using a third party NEXIS emulator.

Specifically, I need to find a way to make Avid index the MediaFiles folders with the machine name prefix, instead of just the usual 1,2,3 etc

I know such a thing exists as I'm using one now, its an app from a third party that interfaces to their nearline storage unit, which I was using on a project sometime ago. The storage unit is long gone but the app still seems to be telling Avid to name the folders on my local storage with my machine name, which is exactly what I want.

I just need to find a way to replicate this behaviour on other machines... is it possible?

I understand there's a whole heap of proprietary and licensable systems when it comes to Avid's back-end, but if you happen to know of a software (or coding) solution that I can use that's reasonably cheap (or free!), I'd really appreciate the heads up.

    Thanks

I've used Indiestor MIMIQ to do it. Simple, it seems to work pretty well, and the developer has been responsive over the years. Windows/Mac compatible. There is a cost, but it works.
