Hi all, My first time working with ArriRaw!
Is it possible to link Arri Raw image files into media composer?
The source browser is telling me that it can't be linked, but is there a plugin for this?
If there isn't a plugin... what would be the best workaround, resolve?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Pat, do you know of any free alternatives?
Isn't that like buying a Ferrari and worrying about gas? Sorry, just thought that was funny. My bad, I figure you're the editor and not the owner of the said Ferrari, but pass the cost along with 50% mark-up.

lol, I brought the Ferrari and have no money left over :p
I don't edit very big projects, the paid clients I get are usually low budget music videos and YouTube films. I'm a student just starting out...
Resolve the best thing for this?
I get it, I paid serious dues doing script-to-screen cable spots for $350 in 1990 for a little company out of Philly called Comcast. But if you want to donate your time for your reel that's one thing. But get covered on hardcost+ MU. Most clients have more money than they want you to know about. One thing that makes any self owned business hard is asking for money while being involved in the creative process. It can interferes in the relationship, but it shouldn't. There's a fair amount of shady operators in this business, including major networks who think Net 120 is fine. If someone fixes your car, they expect to be paid COD. I'm way off tech topics of this forum so that's all I can say. But if you're a good newbe editor don't underestimate your value.
A quicky on google https://www.arri.com/en/learn-help/learn-help-camera-system/tools/arriraw-converter and I saw there is more...

Thanks Luka, I did see that when I was looking for a workaround.
Do you think using Arri's Arriraw converter would be better than using resolve to convert this?

Yes of course, I don't work on many 'passion projects' (on this project no one is getting paid) and I usually don't have any overheads when working on them, I don't rent a studio for example.
In this particular instance, there is a free workaround (resolve) so I wont try to push anyone to pay for a plugin. I don't normally work with arriraw anyway so I won't benefit it from any of my other projects.
Don't you think they should have ArriRaw support native inside of media composer?
"But if you're a good newbe editor don't underestimate your value." Very true!!!

I don't even know if Resolve can ingest those files, if yes I'd run a test to find out the faster converter, unless You're planning to online in Resolve...

Resolve can ingest these files, I think I'll use resolve for this... It's GPU acceleration is excellent and i'm comfortable with working in resolve. I hate round-tripping though! Would love to have more RAW formats supported in Media Composer
