There are several plugins on Sony's site:
Sony XAVC AMA plugin is handled by a company called Nablet.

I thought that was supported without requiring Nablet in the 2020 + releases. No?

Yes - right now I can link XAVC - S - no problem. I am going to check my plugin in the folder and see if it is the Sony one - but I thought as well that we no longer need Nablet.
Also the FX 6 file is XAVC - I - the same one FS7 and FX9 uses. It also has other flavors but I think this one is the higher end one - I will check t on that

However, I record using an X70 and it records in XAVC Long GOP and still requires the Nablet XAVC / XDCAM plugin as far as it can tell so perhaps it is also required for the XAVC-I codec? Just guessing - I could be totally off :-)
Add - If you need the plugin, get it from Nablet (Sony no longer supports these plugins directly - they transferred responsibility to Nablet several years ago).

OK will check Nablet - but I found this plugin from sony - maybe it will work, I am not sure. Been researching on WEB but did not find any info
www.sonycreativesoftware.com/pdzk-ma2
It allows AMA from FS7 - which is same file from the sony FX 6 - I just got the camera today this AM - I am unpacking and will record on it and see if I can bring into MC 2021.3 - if not then I will have to either download the plugin from sony or go to Nablet - I will also check the AVX folder and see what I have their now. I am not sure either as of yet on the Proper AMA plugin
thank you
The Sony Creative version is the older one. They transferred the development of XAVC AMA plugins to Nablet. Use the Nablet version.

OK got it will download the Nablet version - Thank you for heads up
I just shot some test footage and brought into avid using MSP_MXF plugin which I guess is already installed in MC - I wanted to see if it would link with out Nablet - and it linked. I will do some more testing - maybe Nablet is better - I do not know. Footage played well - but not enough of a test to determine anything
Someone high up at AVID said native support is better. But IDK first hand.

Not sure what you mean by native support - do you mean NABLET - if it better than I will get it today.
Thank you

I don't have any FX6 footage but it would be interesting to see whether Avid's own plugin provides superior behavior as compared to the Nablet plugin (assuming Nablet works for FX6 footage). Also - Nablet may offer broader export options (not sure about this).

Native means within AVID and not using a plug-in. And yes XVAC-I is the best as it doesn't have Long GOPs like S and L. It's individual frames which is easier to edit, but you should transcode to your preferred coodec within AVID. "S" is more or less a consumer format. If you can't get XVAC-I to work without Neblet, then I guess you'll need to get it. One of theirs was free and the other was a nominal fee. (Its been 2 years since I worked with XVAC, so sorry if Im a bit vague)

I emailed Nablet and asked them to make sure there plugin will work with camera footage- they emailed me the link to proper plugin and I have it - but did not install it because I am looking for the Plug in folder in MC to make sure I have no duplicates that will interfer with the Nablet but I cannot find it - will look for it again later. BTW not sure if Avids ability to link will affect Nalet - I do not know which one would be better so for now I am using MC's linking
