Dear Avid Community,
We have a strange issue with one of our Avids, upon exiting the software windows gets a blue screen crash and reboots. We tried reinstalling the entire System, reinstalled windows and Avid Softwares and drivers, but the issue stays the same. Then we noticed, that Avid won't crash if we deactivate the external hardware (Nitris DX).
Is this a known bug? And if so has anybody found a fix or workaround for it?
Kind regards
Tobias

what version of avid MC would be the question.
the latest versions dont support Nitris anymore.
But hey, I just upgraded to 2018.12 and I'm contemplating rolling back to 8.5 because it was way more stable for me.
Which Windows Version do you run Avid on? There seems to be an incompatibilty with Windows 10 version 2004 which caused bluescreens after closing Avid Mediacomposer if you have MojoDX or similiar.

Thanks for clearing this up!
It appears that the Windows 10 Version 20H2 don't have this issue anymore. We tried it with Avid 20.12.1 and the Bluescreen when closing Media Composer was gone.

That is very good to hear! Thanks for the info.
Hi Thomas.
I have Win10 20H2 and MC 2021.3 and it still crashes down hard upon exit. Do you have any tip what to do with that?
Thanks.
Maybe this is a solution:

Answer by Generix: "Hi there! i had a same issue, the support provided the answer:
In Media Composer 2018.5, there is an updated driver for the Nitris DX. However, this is not automatically installed when you install the editing application. The installer is located on: (Windows) Program Files\Avid\Utilities\DXDrivers There is a Win7 driver and a Win10 driver. Kindly select the one appropriate for your OS."
Unfortunately, after some months without crashing it returns after the latest Windows update. :( no idea how to fix this. We think about upgrading to Avid DNXiQ... but MojoDX was still performing very well for us.
Hi All,
Rolled back to OS Build 1909 on Avid 2021.6 with DX Nitris on a clean install.
All worked fine then a Windows forced update to 20H1 brought the crash on close back.
Build rollback didn't fix it.
So it's clean install or throw the Nitris Dx...but I was getting attached to the fan noise in the room.
Any one else have a fix apart from buy more stuff?.....Harry
