    Interesting Randall.

For me having had all of the symptoms described in the Hollywood studios hit by thread here on a Mac Book that has never had Google Chrome installed so I am not convinced.  (OS is 10.10.5 and MC version 8.3.1 released long before the current Mac Dongle install issues surfaced)

My final symptoms from the OS issues (iLock and Kernel panics) here was that none of the Mac Book Pro USB ports would see my MC dongles though the Mac Book had no trouble operating with USB sticks or USB hard drives.   The final part of the solution here was to uninstall 8.3.1 and installed 8.9.4.  (to auto install a new Dongle Manager).   My dongles were immediately seen and worked as expected. A 3 hour edit session then went perfectly.  I have subsequently rebooted and checked MC out several times with no issues  (touch wood)
