    Promote Animatte to 3D Effect

This is an old one, but still is so annoying that it's not been addressed.  I have workarounds, but that's what they are.

I want to cut out a shape with an animatte and move the matted image around, without affecting the background.  Other keys are easily promoted to 3D to do this; why not Animatte?

    Please :)

Re: Promote Animatte to 3D Effect

I totally agree. Animatte is an old-style effect, along with Paint and a few others. They use the old-style controls and keyframes. When most other effects were upgraded to the new keyframe model, these were left behind. It's time to change that. Animatte should just be part of 3D Warp. I always use them together. Anything you apply an Animatte to is going to need 3D Warp, as well.

    Absolutely agree! +1

..and here’s the workaround, gleaned from Avid Editors’ forum posts over the years. How did this escape improvement ?
