AMPIPluginDSM.avx causes Media Composer to crash at start up.

AMPIPluginDSM.avx causes Media Composer to crash at start up. A forum said to remove it from the plugins folder, but it's not in my plugin folder. It's not anywhere on my computer as far as I can tell.  This just seemed to happen randomly out of the blue.

I read on another forum that you can drag the plugins folder to the desktop to get Media Composer to start.  I did that, but now i don't have any plugins to use and there's a folder on my desktop i don't to have there.  Is this seriously the only solution?

How do I get back to normal?

    Thanks in advance..

eb... if that worked then one or more of the plug-in's inside that folder is outdated or corrupt.  So you need to determine which one it is.

The workaround is to move the audio plugins to an separate folder, and try to launch Media Composer,
Later on, when you know Media Composer is starting, you can try to move some plugins back, and try to figure out what Audio Plug-In that is hanging the launch.

    For Mac OS X:
    1. Navigate to: Macintosh HD/Library/Application support/Avid/Audio/
    2. Move the contents of the Plug-Ins folder somewhere safe. (preferably a new folder on the desktop)

    For Windows:
    1. Navigate to:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\
    2. Move the contents of the Plug-Ins folder somewhere safe. (preferably a new folder on the desktop)

Several known plug in's have been seen to cause the issue.
