Change Marquee title built in another suite.

I cannot for the life of me figure this out:

An editor in one suite has made a title with marquee and cut it into a sequence.

I open the sequence and go to effect mode and click on 'Edit Title' in the effect editor. I make the change to the title and then I save. No problem. Then when I try to quit Marquee it asks me to 'Save to Bin?'. If I click ok I get a 'Save title dialogue with options to render new media - however, when I do this it doesn't update the title on the timeline: it just creates a new title in a bin.

I think it has something to do with the 'File name control' in the Marquee 'Render Options' - this directory specified there when I open the title is a local path on the original computer and hence doesn't exist on my machine. Changing this to a path on my machine doesn't seem to help.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Cheers.

Re: Change Marquee title built in another suite.

I don't have a solution but have experienced this same behaviour. With Marquee I've just learnt to 1. save before opening Marquee and 2. check that the title in the timeline has actually updated.

You're probably right that it is to do with working on different suites.

    cheers

Re: Change Marquee title built in another suite.

Yesterday I needed to change 3 captions:

On the first one I opened the Effect editor and then ALT+dragged the title effect icon to a new bin.
    Then I clicked Edit Title.
Marquee opened and I went into the Render options, changed the directory to a local directory on this machine.
Changed the title and hit save in marquee.
When I closed Marquee, the title on the timeline updated - 'Wow, great' I thought.

Did the exact same  procedure on 2nd caption and same result. Cool.

    3rd caption, I didn't perform the ALT+drag.
This time, when I closed Marquee after the change, it asked me to render new media and the caption didn't update on the timeline.
The problem is that the title in question has lots of animation keyframe on it for sizing, position and cropping, so I can't easily just overwrite it with the newly created title. And as far as I can see, there is no way to copy keyframes between effects in MC.

With MC so commonly used in shared environments, there must be quite a few people coming up against this issue?
