Anyone know why Avid doesn't like this OP-1a MXF?

Pop it in a numbered MXF folder but it hates it and just wants to quarantine it!

    Thanks

Ahh - thanks - I had them the wrong way round in my head!Embarrassed

Is there a quick re-wrap app as I think the actual codec is good?

    Cheers.

And a suitable re-wrap app is called Convert V3. I just re-wrap as a .MOV and can AMA link sucessfully.

    All's well :-)

Your source MXF file may be AMA-linked too (besides some codecs). Fast way - with ALT drag file to bin, then consolidate to wished disk, and no additional software is needed.

I remember I used to drag files into bins - usually WAV audio files - but that hasnt worked for a long time.  Have had to manually navigate. I  will try the ALT drag.  Many thanks

In case you're interested, Davinci Resolve can also export MXF Op Atom files from the deliver page. You can export from a timeline either as one file or individual files (one for each clip on the timeline).

I've used this technique a number of times to convert heavyweight Red and dpx files to something like DNX36.

Re: Anyone know why Avid doesn't like this OP-1a MXF?

Guys - just an update on this - Avid IS linking to OP-1a MXF files without unwrapping!  I think my initial test file for this workflow was corrupt.  I used Convert V6 to unwrap (when it works - tip always tick the 'use subfolder box') but accidentally didnt when the producer bought an ext HDD in and it linked no problem...  Verified its 100% OP-1a using Media Info :)

something to keep in mind with this - in older versions of resolve, OP-Atom mediafiles were NOT usable in interplay. Standard media composer is perfectly happy with resolve generated OP-Atom. Have not yet tested with interplay 2018 or resolve 15.
