Hi everyone. For any of you who haven't seen this yet...Years ago when I first became a moderator, I created and kept a little "cheat sheet" for myself showing all of the versions of Media Composer, which OS versions they worked with, which versions of QuickTime, and so on. Kind of like Avid's official Version Matrix, but a more cumulative one. Then a few years ago, I turned it into a website so everyone could benefit from it.I keep updating it with the latest versions of Media Composer. If you need it, here it is:http://www.alwaysediting.com/avid-mc-versions.htmlWithin it, here is the page showing all of the recent versions:http://www.alwaysediting.com/mc-list.html
Hope it helps!

Big love to you for this, Pixel Monkey!
Trialling a replacement MBP just now, and Avid's the first big question.Jumping from OS 10.11 ('El Capitan') to OS 13.6 ('High Sierra') would mean jumping MC versions, too.Getting old, working less, and used to MC 8.6.4How big a jump is it from MC 8.6.4 to 2018, or even 8.10?
(Looks wise to jump back a few High Sierra versions, too, depending on MC version)
No big jump at all. I did so with many systems of varying versions. Jump to anything after 8.8.0, and you'll be very happy with all the fatures you'll find. That said, know that MacOS 13.6 is NOT supported yet.
Hey Chris,
Excellent source!
If you would, could you give me your opinion. We are currently running 8.5.3 on a LOT of mac systems using Facilis Terrablockj for shared storage / projects. Due to an upgrade of the Terrablock, we must upgrade OS to a version that 8.5.3 is not supported on - High Sierra.
What do you feel is the most stable release for Mac on shared storage where we are using the whole range of Avid features (emphasis on multicam).
I have used 8.9.4 on a couple of projects that needed specific features and was ok with it. But I am interested in getting us more up to date if it will not cause pain.
Thanks for any feedback.
Jef

Managed to get the new maching back down to OSX 10.13.2 - and I love the lightness and speed (mid-2015, reconditioned by someone I trust!)Let's see if it's worth the pain of migrating once this weekend's deadlines have whizzed by; plodding through on this beachball generator for now
