Hi all, Working on a feature that is shooting 2.8k anamorphic on Arri Alexa but wants to master in 2.39. DIT is doing DNxHD 36 transcodes in sliverstack for us in editorial. We've already determined that its not the best workflow for DIT to transcode to 2.39 (issues with Arri metadata, too late to solve). So my transcodes are coming in as 1920x1080 with the fullframe anamorphic. When in Avid, I can't for the life of me determine how to auto-set the transcodes to punch up to 2.39. Anamorphic is narrower than 2.39, so it's not just a matter of throwing on a mask (2.39 would cut off some picture on the sides, rather than losing picture on top/bottom). I've tried setting frameflex, but no matter what I do nothing seems to change and it doesn't look like there's an option for frameflex to punch in? So the temp solution right now is scaling up each clip to 111% and adding a 2.39 mask. Is there a better way to do this in Avid that I'm missing? Thank you!
