None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

    Hi everyone,

I just downloaded Media composer First last night. Yes the free one Yes. I tried to launch it tonight to learn this program. FAIL!

The application manager under apps launches the program then application manager kicks down to License. The Composer pops up a window saying Login required (Did that), Please quit and login to Avid Application Manager and relaunch Media Composer First.

Does this have something to do with iLok License Manager, I notice this icon on my desktop after the download. Not sure what this thing is!!

    Thank You for your responses

    Hi Bassnote,

        Please do this in order:

    • Launch AppMan and sign in
    • Select Apps tab
    • then click "Open"

This should launch the main application, report back.

I'm having the same problems as Bassnote and followed the suggestion of RalphC; no change.

    Hi UvaSEP,

       Can you confirm the following:

    1.  You are log in on the AppMan
    2.  You have "Open" button in the Apps tabs
    3.  AppMan is not continuously  in sync status
    4.  Firewall is disable
    5.  Data Colletion is check

    Thanks,

    RalphC

Thanks RalphC!  Figured it out, it was a Firewall issue

Re: None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. I was having major issues with Win 8.1. I decided to remove all the crap bloatware from win 8.1 to speed up this computer. Then I realized in my work, that Win 8.1 is all crap. So we got rid of the Wincrap. I loaded Win 10 (a little more stable). So in doing this Media Composer First went with it.

So after a fresh install, I reloaded Media Composer First in Win 10. No change, in AppMan there was no "Open" App. Just the license tab kept popping up. This is the Program I really wanted to learn, but too many problems, so I scrubbed the idea. I wish it came in Linux as that is what I use daily.

I have Openshot and 1 other, but they are not the program Media Composer is. I want to do educational videos for kiddos, maybe I will keep trying, but I have some videos I have to get out. So this project will have to be on hold, unless someone has words of wisdom to reach my goal of Media Composer (First)!

So what would cause it to not be recognizes in AppMan? A firewall?

Re: None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

If you have a firewall and/or antivirus software running, try disabling them and then running the app. manager (if your system is directly connected to the internet and not through a router, then don't disable anything; instead figure out the settings to allow appman through the firewall). If appman works with the firewall disabled, then that's your issue.

Thank You, I will have to download the program again. Try what your suggesting and see if I can use this program I'm very interested in.

I think through win10 and my cable router I can just click to let it communicate

Re: None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

Having a similar set of problems. I thought I had allowed this pass through the firewall becasue it asked to veryfy and gave me the yes/no option. Going to check this through. Windows Defender and Norton 360 are both running.

I did start the program through app-manager.

It launched an then freezes at this screen...the mouse click dings wherever I try. Can't do anything, can't minimise or close. Have to use task manager to dump it.

On one attempt I got the mouse highlight over the center of the screen as if there was a hot-link there, but nothing was displayed. Grahpics card issue?  System specs are listed in my in profile

Re: None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

I reloaded the Media First and now in Login I'am getting "Unknown error". I have no antivirus loaded yet, I turned off the Windows Firewall. So Im beginning to believe Media First doesn't like my laptop.

I did get Media First loaded into a desktop recently and it  signed in and worked. So my question is, am I allowed to have Media First on two different computers? The Desktop I loaded, was to see if I could and it worked flawlessly. My laptop, not so much.

Laptop is a Samsung with an A8 processor, 8 gigs of ram, intergrated video. I know it's not strong, but I wanted to be mobile with the Media First.

Yes, you can install MC|First on two different machine. Often you will get an "Unknown error" if you sign in while AppManHelper is still trying to sync. Make sure there's no background task processing when you log in.

Re: None of your installed products can be licensed via application manager

I have a avid ap manager helper that is running in the background according to the Task Manager. It keeps erasing my password and I cannot log on.  Everything was fine about a month ago after first installation but since I went back to a small project it will not let me in. I have deleted and reinstalled the program to no avail. I tried to get on with the firewall down...nope. Is this in continous sync??

I really need some help please. Thanks.
