    Subcap not working in 8.9.2

I have used subcap extensively in the past. After a hard drive crash I reinstalled my Avid, but Subcap no longer worked. So I bought a one month copy of the newest Avid, but I was disappointed to find that the Subcap feature doesn't work in the newest Avid Media Composer. I'm using Subtitle Edit (as I have successfully in the past) to create both slt and avid caption txt files, but niether are working. When I go to load a caption file and click on the file itself, the avid window tells me how many lines it is about to slice in. but after clicking the file to load, avid never slices the captions into my timeline. Can anyone else please confirm this bug for me? Or tell me a work around?

Re: Subcap not working in 8.9.2

I also use Subcap regularly but our work systems are still on 8.7.5. I just tested at home on my PC with 9.2 and didn't have any problems importing the file. I use Belle Nuit to create an Avid DS .txt subtitle file and it's working fine.

That's probably not too much help but thought I'd report anyway. I can try it on a Mac tomorrow to see if there is any difference there.

    Good luck

To test subcaps I manually create a subcap in MC. Then export it and compare it to the import I need to use.

I normally find something needs adjusting in the import file.
