    Fields in FrameFlex

Good day, I found that Freameflex function do not use fields. For example - when I apply this function and set keyframes for position or scale, movement of picture created by this keyframes is not interlaced, though video is still interlaced. Before rendering this effect movement occurs in the fields and after rendering in the frames.

Interesting.  I have not tested this yet.  One question.  Was your project Progressive or Interlace when you tested?

Project is interlaced, I see fields in video by pressing "Step Forward One Field", but movement between keyframes occurs once in two fields.

    Re: Fields in FrameFlex

Humpf.  This is just one more example, in my opinion, of what a poor piece of design and implementation Frameflex is.

It feels as if Frameflex was thrown in as a Bandaid so Avid could claim Resolution Independence. The design limitations smack of dumbing down the issues of multiple resolutions in a sequence at the expense of making a useful tool for users who have needs beyond a quick and dirty "make it fit this raster size".

While I do not love it by any means, the basic Motion effect in Premiere is superior to Frameflex.

Avid had a wonderful blueprint in the Avid DS DVE tool. But that could be said about many of DS's tools that were abandoned.

I will test to confirm when possible so we can at least try to get this addressed.  Interlace is not dead yet.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Re: Fields in FrameFlex

I ran into the same issue lately. The workaround was to do the Frameflex-animation in a 50p-project, create video-mixdowns and cut the mixdowns in the i-project.

    Really not a perfect workflow.
