login to interplay failed: format descriptor

Upgraded MC from 8.4 to 8.6.1 today.  The version Matrix says its supported interplay 3.3.0

But I get the error  login to interplay failed: format descriptor

I tried patching access to 3.3.1 no luck.

Application works otherwise just cannot connect to Interplay.  It does still connect to Isis so I can see the media drive.

    Any ideas?

Did you also installed the right interplay framwork with the Editor? Might be you are using a newer editor on older (8.4) framwork.

    hmm.

I will look into that further.

Would I have to change the framework on the server side as well?

    Thanks

We are on 1.8 on the framework, which seems to be current.  There is a 1.8.1 available.

I was hopping to not have to do any Interplay upgrading for the MC 8.6 to function.

    Thanks

Re: login to interplay failed: format descriptor

Hi David, no you should not update server side as it is supported (as stated in the version matrix) but on the client side I think the framework sshouldbe compatible with the editor version. This is an assumption though, it might be that the current version does not understand the older framework thus throwing an error on start. It would be my first option.

    Hope it helps.

Solution was to download the Interplay Production Client software, and install on the client.  Not neccessary to upgrade on server.

    Thanks for all the help.
