Trial version 8.6 media composer - .avb files not linked?

    Mac 10.11.3

I'm following a Lynda tutorial, I downloaded the files and followed the instructions thoroughly but for some reason when I go into my bins which were already set up with the tutorial files I downloaded, it shows that my media is offline? How do I get MC to recognize the provided .avb files? Please help me!

I believe you need to find where Lynda downloads the Media to on your drive and move it into (or create this folder structure and move the media into) "YourMediaDrive"\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1
MC only reads and writes Avid Media when it is in "number only named" folder that lives inside the MXF folder that is insnside an Avid MediaFiles folder that is at the root level of a harddrive.

All these folders need to have their permissions set to Read and Write for all Users.

(number named folders advice was for simplicity in explaining it to relatively new users)
