    Hi Bart,

Try cleaning the AppMan Cache files, select the arrow down upper right of the AppMan>Adminstration> Restart AppManhelper followed by Clean cache file.

Could you guys check if there's something going on with my account? Don't understand why it doesn(t state there's an update.

    kind regards

Re: Media Composer v8.6 | NOW AVAILABLE

I checked your Avid master account your MC license is Time Period: Dec 29, 2014 - to - Dec 28, 2016

And you have 8.6.1 in your downloads. Since reset thru the Appman does not work, can you try these steps a try..

    1. Quit Application Manager from its menu-bar icon at the top of the screen.

              a. Go to MacHD > Applications >Utilites > and open 'Activity Monitor'.

              b. In the activity monitor interface, select the Process Name ‘AvidAppManHelper’ from the column on the left-hand side, Then click the ‘X’ button at the top left to quit the process.

You should no longer have any ‘Avid Application Manager’ related processes in the ‘Process Name’ column of Activity Monitor.

    2. Delete the following folders:

               HD/Library/Caches/Avid/AppManager/Cache

               HD/Library/Caches/Avid/AppManager/Db

               HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Licenses

    3. Now once again go to Go to MacHD > Applications > Avid > Application Manager, but this time, double-click on the ‘AvidAppManHelper.app’ file and wait for it to appear in Activity Monitor’s Process list to ensure it’s started.

    4. Restart Machine and launch AvidApplicationManager.app and then re-enter my Activation code and my System ID.

Resetting Appman does not help pm your systems ID and Avid master account email.

Re: Media Composer v8.6 | NOW AVAILABLE

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place.

I have a perpetual license with an active support contract expiring in 2017. I just attempted to upgrade to 8.6.1 from 8.5. When I attempt to launch MC, I get the message "This software was released past your contract expiration date."

Any suggestions for how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    T

Re: Media Composer v8.6 | NOW AVAILABLE

I was one of the few who manually downloaded 8.6.2 and it worked fine, so I left it alone. Last night the old title tool started acting up (couldn't edit existing files) and so today I uninstalled everything and jumped up to 8.6.3. However, the installer would fail 90% of the way through the process. Had support on board for five hours of remote access, and they went through the work arounds described in this thread, with no success. Even set up a new User Profile.

Any advice would be appreciated ...

Re: Media Composer v8.6 | NOW AVAILABLE

I went thru AVID support, and it was escalated a level.

It may have been a problem with my O/S.

Eventually, I did a full restore from my Time Machine overnight. MC 8.6.2 worked fine. A weird glitch I was experiencing within the old Title Tool seemed to be gone.

Confident that I could restore everything to 8.6.2, I downloaded and successfully installed 8.6.3 through the Application Manager. Note: I did this WITHOUT un-installing my existing version.

So, not sure why, but everything seems to be working fine.

Very strange. It is there -  on the mc-trial page.
    Maybe country-dependent site?
