    Can I delete AppManagerHelper logs?

So I've been having trouble recently with my system SSD running out of space. After much hunting round today I discovered that the folder c:\ProgramData\Avid\Support\Logs\AppManagerHelper was 88GB.

One of the .log files is 56GB, another is 23GB! WTF?!

Both these files are from the last month. Can anyone explain what these are, why they're so big, and if I can delete them safely?

    Thanks

    Campbell

    Working today? Surprise

Personally I check and deleted almost everything else the App manager creates above a few MB's and not had any issues. (Never seen this as a recommended process by Avid)

The App Manager on more than one occasion has started filling my C:\ drive with cache, log or temp files.  Last straw.... during the finishing stages of an App manager update I suddenly had zero space on my C: drive. App manager file had filled and were still trying to create more files when I noticed it (at about 60GB's) I no longer let the App Manager update itself stopping the process as soon as the new version download (to C:\AvidDownloads\Downloads) is complete.

As soon as my App Manager confirms every thing is correct I stop the process and stop it from auto starting at OS reboot time.  I can manually turn it on if required.  (a diplomatic way of conveying my thoughts.)

Re: Can I delete AppManagerHelper logs?

Working? Well... it's my home edit suite and I was mostly just surfing the net.Nothing to do with work, really truly. But it's been pretty annoying having my hard -drive fill up every few days recently.

I had been deleting things from the AppData folder, which takes up a lot of space too. But the Avid AppManager files were a total surprise!

Deleted now, will see how things go. Thanks

Re: Can I delete AppManagerHelper logs?

So I deleted a bunch of huge files to free up space, and then my drive ran out of space again. In the last two days a 33GB and 22GB log files have been created.

Can anyone from Avid tell my why this is suddenly happening? I've never had this issue before.

Is it something to do with downgrading from MC8.5 back to 8.2?

Re: Can I delete AppManagerHelper logs?

    I fixed mine with
Find a new installer for App manager. (Preferably 2.4.1 or 2.3.3 for MC 8.2 They may be in your C:\AvidDownloads\Downloads folder)  I have zipped copies here if you cannot find them 170 odd MB's
Delete the App managers caches as per this post
    Uninstall the App manager
    Reboot the computer
    Reinstall the App Manager.

Re: Can I delete AppManagerHelper logs?

Hi Andrew, I couldn't find any older copies of the Application Manager so if you're able to send me one that you think will work that would be great.I can't see any way to send you a message through the forums so email me campbell [at] bicyclepictures.co.nz

    Thanks
