Z840 Performance Issues - Why's it running so slow?

We just purchased a new z840 for one of our editing suites but it's running almost as slow as our oldest machine, a z400. It boots insanely slow, opens avid extremely slow, and bogs down when switching between applications, like tabbing between avid and Mozilla Firefox. For such a new machine you would think it would be soaring. What could be bogging it down?

    HP z840
    Xeon CPU E5-2630 v3 2.4ghz
32 GB Ram (originally shipped with 16 but we doubled after it locked up so many times)
    64 bit
    Windows 7 SP1
    NVIDIA Quadro K4200
    Avid 8.3.1

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Hello Kyle,

I'm no  hardware expert, but if I'm in your situation I will check the Avid configuration and guidelines for the HPz840 first.

We are not seeing the issues you are having. Have you tried a rebuild (OS and apps) from scratch?
