    MC8.5/MC7 project compatability

    Hi

    Just wondering if MC8.2.7 can open MC8.5 projects - I'm getting a message that I can't open a project after downgrading.

    I can create a new project and open the bins though, which is fine. I don't remember reading anything about project files changing at MC8.5 and can't find anything through googling.

    Any thoughts?

     

    The message says the project was created with a new version of Avid than is installed so I can't open it.

     

    8.5 on a mongrel PC, Win 7, QT7.5, Nvidia GTX 970, 16Gb RAM, SSD, NAS for raw media and a Macbook Pro [view my complete system specs]

    FWIW I just created a new 8.5.2 1080 50i project with 3 bins of AMA linked media and 1 bin with a very simple 10 clip V1. A1. A2. timeline and saved it. Copied the project via a network to another computer and opened it without issues using 7.0.6 (the newest MC on that computer)
