Hi first of all I couldnt find exactly where i should post this question so i just came to general discussions so if you can move it that would be great. I'm new to this.
Ok here is my problem.
I have a 3rd generation MBox which used to work fine but now when i plug it into any device it doesn't get recognised and the lights on the front of the MBox just flash in a repeated sequence. I've looked all over the internet for days for a solution and i cannot find one. I have installed the appropriate drivers onto my Mac and still nothing. The problem started a week ago. I plugged the Mbox into my friends macbook pro and was using Logic Pro X to record. Once it finally connected the mic worked for about a minute and then a message came up on the mac saying that the USB is using too much power. Ever since it hasnt worked on any device i have tried it with.
I have changed the cable i was using to see if that was the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I have installed different drivers just in case i was installing the wrong ones but none of this has worked. I've even installed pro tools 11 HD just to see if the issue was that i wasnt using pro tools to set up. My mac cannot find it in sound devices or anything. Is there anything that i can do to get this thing working again? I NEED TO RECORD!!
Im running Mac El Capitan 10.11.2.

Hello there....
First, support for OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) was added with Pro Tools 12.3.... I believe you are using PT 11.x
Secondly, the El Capitan supported hardware is as follows:
003
003 Rack
MBox 3 Pro
MBox 3
MBox 3 Mini
Pro Tools | Quartet
Pro Tools | Duet
Eleven Rack
Fast Track C400
Fast Track C600
Fast Track Duo
Fast Track Solo
Did the problem start when you updated to El Cap or an version OF El Cap? why I ask is ---- No audio output with latest USB drivers (e.g. Eleven Rack, Fast Track C400 & C600, MBox Mini, MBox) This issue has been solved with latest drivers (AAH-145)
Not sure exactly which MBox you have so you can alsways email me the serial # and I can advise further

Thanks so much for your response.
Yeah i'm using 11.3.1 but ideally i would like the MBox to work with Logic anyway as im more familiar with the software.
Previously I was using it with mountain Lion on a completely different Mac altogether. The problem started when i plugged into a Macbook pro using El Capitan. It worked for about 2 minutes and then hasn't worked since.
I assume i dont need all of the drivers you listed there? or do i?
I've downloaded the 'Mbox 3' ones its not a mini or a pro if that helps.
Do i need to download 'AAH-145' drivers even though they seemed specific to other hardware?
AFAIK the 3rd Gen works with El Cap.

Also here is the link for the updated drivers....

Go there and make sure you have the lastest driver.
Yes, these are the same drivers i have tried to download quite a few times. I am still getting the flashing lights on my mbox :/
