Hi
I am trying to help a friend with an error message I have never seen before
Does anyone have any idea what can it be?
Hi, I have the same problem and noticed it seems to affect my Audio Suite - I cannot open it. I also do not have Dolby AC3 activated. (You can see this in the Avid Application Manager) Is this true for your friend, too? Maybe there's a connection...
I don't know about the audio sutie. I'll ask.
But I know there are many AMA problems, even for simple MOV files
(and yes, the right QT ver is installed)
I'm getting this now too (but under Windows 10), did anyone figure it out?
It is very likely caused by PACE License Service, which my not be running. You can check this in the service administartion window. (Click on Start > Computer Administration > Services and go down the list of services to PACE License Service. If it is not running, click on Start Service. In addition, look at the Start column fo the service. It may be set to "Automatic (Delayed)". In this case, it may take over a minute after booting up the system until the PACE License Service wil be started. You can change the start parameter to "Autostart", which causes the service to start immediately when the system is booted. For changing: Double click the service, and select "Automatic" in Starttype.

Turns out PACE was missing from my system for some reason - downloaded the latest iLok license manager from their website and that fixed it. Thanks!
Thanks for the update!
Thanks Joachim, that fixed it for me! The audio suite is working now, too.

Good to hear, that you have been successful. Keep on editing.
I am having this exact problem now too after installing Windows 10 with MC 8.5.1 The solution mentioned above didn't work for me.

Hi Scott, I would GUESS seeing that as iLoks sorted it for others it is possible that you have 1 (or more) audio plugins that are not W10 compatible yet. (from memory some iZotope plugins have been culprits for audio issues in the distant past)
Wild horses cannot drag me away from W7 reliability yet
I haven't installed anything extra along with the MC installation, the RTAS plugins arent loading though. I'll keep looking. So far Windows 10 is working great, Avid is rendering faster for one.
I've uninstalled the iLok that came with the MC download and downloaded the latest one from their website.
https://ilok.com/#!license-manager
Installed, restarted and opened up "services" to make sure the PACE License Services was running and set to automatic startup.
Launch Avid, problem persists.
With past instalations of MC I never had to do anything with iLok, it installed and that was it. I wonder if I have to create an account and sign in or something like that? It says "0 activations" when I start it.
Hey Scott
Have you tried to remove 8.5.1 and reinstall it? 8.5.2 is coming today I hope so that might be a good thing to do today.

Problem SOLVED! Chris from Avid called me and we went rhough a bunch of things. What I ended up doing was remvoing my Soundlblaster Audigy2 ZS sound card and re-installing Windows 10. I removed the soundcard and all of its drivers and software before re-installing the OS but that didn't work. Since this was a clean install of Win 10 from a few weeks ago it wasn't a big deal for me to do it again. Thats what it took. I don't really need the sound card anyways, I am now using onbaord sound and it's fine, it was an older card that wasn't really suppored under Windows 10 anyways.
