Import 3d MTS / MVC to Avid Media Composer.

Workflow for the mts/mvc 3d format from sony 3d cameras:

Download and install the MVC to AVI converter.

    http://www.3dtv.at/Products/MvcConverter/Index_en.aspx

Download and install the gopro studio.

    http://shop.gopro.com/EMEA/softwareandapp/gopro-studio/GoPro-Studio.html#/start=1

run the mvc to avi converter.

go to file. Settings. Press Download ffshow.

    Download and install ffshow.

    restart mvc to avi converter.

go to file. settings. Video encoder.

    Select the gopro-cineform encoder (multicore)

    press configure.

    select filmscan1

Make sure that the progressive frame tick is off.

    Encode the files you need.

( tip : just encode 10 file at the time because of memory leaks from the encoder. )

Seperate the right and left files in different folders.

( tip : just use the windows search function. *r* and *l* )

    Use Advanced Renamer (http://www.advancedrenamer.com/download)

to remove the -r and -l from the files.

    Open Avid Media Composer.

Make two new bins. left and right.

Use AMA link to import the left and right footage to the bins.

Left click on the columns and choose columns.

    Enable S3D Channel.

Do this on both left and right.

Select all the files in on of the bins.

left click on the colums by the clips and

select right or left based on what bin you are working on.

Right click on the bins (while still selecting all the clips. )

Choose Populate S3D group names automatically

now right click on one of the bins and select

    Create Stereoscopic Clips.

    From there you select

Consider clips from : All open bins ( you closed all the others right ? )

Retrieve default time code from : Left eye

Name the new clips using S3D Clip name

Create audio tracks in the clips from : Defauls TC crontributor

Set S3D Leading Eye of stereoscopic clips to : Left

Sync contributing clips using: Source Timecode.

Now you are left with the 3d clips.

Enable 3d in the format tab in the main project bin.

The clips that were created, are still ama link videos.

Select the 3d clips and select transcode.

    Transcode in your favorite format.

    Thats it ! :D

(writing this while drunk importing 700+ clips.. If any info is wrong,or anything fails. post a comment :) )
