    Saving Projects to a server

Has anyone been able to save MC projects to a server?  I have a OS X server that I have tried mounting via AFP and SMB to save projects to and neither works.  Bins save fine, but I constantly get an error when trying to save projects.  It stumps me why this would even be a issue for MC to save files to.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Re: Saving Projects to a server

You can't just save your projects to any old server, you get that warning if you do.  ISIS, EditShare, etc, have their own sharing protocols that make things "work" so you don't get that warning.

Adding:  For most users with general needs, it doesn't matter what the protocol is (SMB, AFP, NFS, etc).  For video editing, and Avid in particular, it does.  Don't be surprised if there are other issues apart from the project not saving even though the bins do.

I have a windows 2003 R2 server that I use for central Project and media storage. No sharing required, only one editor at a time access that project and media but that works fine. We map a network drive and enable all drives in teh Avid console. Works fine.
