Hi!

I'm using MC8.3.1. I have XAVC S footage. First I download the Sony plugin for this type of files. when I "linked to ama" I saw that for each video avid made 2 files, one was a still of the video (30 sec duration) and one was the AMA with sound but without the video, the source monitor showed "wrong format".

Does anyone know what is the problem and how to ama the xavc s files?

I'm using now the Sony Catalyst Prepare because it is very urgent project, but I have to understand the problem, it's the first time avid linked to AMA with the original sound but without the video.

There are a couple of other threads on this topic.  Bottom line, Sony has not yet written an AMA plug-in for XAVC-S.  AFAIK, no time frame has been given and it may not ever exist.  Catalyst Browse and Catalyst Prepare are Sony's recommended workflows.

Im a hobbyist, have the 4K Sony Action cam which is XAVC-S. Just got it today, so my workflow so far is:

Dowloaded the latest AMA Driver

Downloaded Sony Catalyst Browse for free from Sony Creative site,
Converted the XVAC-S file to XVAC using Preset XAVC Intra 3840x2160 25p (Sony)

This converted from Mp4 to MXF File
AMA Linked to Avid 

Converted to DNxHR HQ

Seems to work fine in timeline on my quite old system.
