Unable to AMA link FS7 XAVC footage

I run Media Composer 7.04, with the lates Sony AMA plug-in for XAVC files installed (PDZK-MA2 v3.40).

I've received a hard drive with footage from the Sony FS7 in XAVC Intra 4K format. The clips are saved in a XDROOT\Clip folder, which I understands mirrors the folder structure on the camera's card.

However, when I try to AMA link to the XDROOT folder, I receive the following error message: "AMA Manager - Failure accessing the volume information for volume F:\XDROOT\".

And when I try to AMA link to the Clip folder, I receive the message: "Unable to link to any clips at F:\XDROOT\Clips".

The error messages are the same regardless of whether I have 'Automatically AMA-link to volumes' in the AMA settings enabled or disabled.

The Avid Editor Services are not running on my system (I've never been able to get them working), but this shoudln't affect AMA linking as it's for background services only and I'm able to AMA link files from other cameras, such as Canon C300 or AVCHD files from the Sony A7S.

Would anybody have any suggestions as to why I'm unable to AMA link the XAVC clips?

I've already tried that. Makes no difference. I'm getting the same 'Failure accessing volume information'message.

What I meant by sharing, is do you have access to the drive and/or folder that the files are stored in?

    Denny

PS complete system specs would help here.

Can you ama to any of the individual mxf files in the clip folder?
You need to choose xavc mxf in the ama pull down menu. Auto detect does not work.

This did the trick! I chose XAVC MXF in the AMA pull down menu and instead of trying to link to the folder (as I'd do with other file types), I linked directly to the MXF files in the Clip subfolder - and voila, it worked.

I'd found a work around using Resolve but transcoding and reframing directly in Media Composer is so much easier and quicker. Thanks so much!
