I've just noticed that in both MC 7.0.4 and 8.3 that if I change the project format then any rendered effects become unrendered.
I need to do this as we output our programme in both HD and SD and usually I just switch the format for the SD output. Previously in MC5.5 I could do this with no issue, all rendered effects stayed renderd.
There are two effects where this is important. The Subcap effect settings are absolute, not proportional, so changing from HD to SD results in large text that runs off the screen. Also, chroma key effects are substantially lower quality if they are applied after the media has been down-rezzed.
The workaround is to do a video mixdown before changing project format, although this is unnecessary in my current workflow so will add extra time.
I'm interested as to why this has changed? Surely media is media, rendered or otherwise?
cheers
