Thank you ... this has been a problem for me and your solution is very fast and easy.  Don't know why there is all the discussion abut exporting and reimporting when this is so direct.. a couple of keystroves.

I love having stereo tracks. It allows me to have a much easier to navigate timeline. Now all my sound effects tracks are stereo but I always need to keep a couple of mono tracks hanging around for that occasional time when I have a mono only sound.

I wish there was a way to mark a mono clip as a pseudo-stereo clip. It could effectivley mirror the sound from A1 to A2 and drop the level by 3db (or 6 I can't remember which is necessary) and allow it to be put on a stereo track.

For the time being I just wish it didn't take so many mouse clicks to switch a clip from one format to another. The modify window does not remember the last tab that you accessed.

Job ter Burg:

Make it a dual mono (select in bin, Clip->Modify->Set Multichannel Audio), apply the reverse to the master clip (just drag the master clip onto the AudioSuite window and it will go into Master Clip mode), find the resulting rendered clip in its bin, choose Clip->Modify->Set Multichannel Audio, and make it stereo again. Hassle, but inside MC.

I realize that I started this thread almost 5 years ago, but I just wanted to thank Job ter Burg once again for posting this back then.  I recently came across the same situation and couldn't remember how to do this in Avid.  I found this thread and it made it a lot easier to figure it out once again.
