I created a multigroup based out of several Groups, but the multigroup only shows the first Group which is about 30 seconds, while the entire sequence I am trying to multigroup is 40 mins.A nyone has any ideas why this problem typically occurs?
It should be a pretty simple multicam exercise. There are two cameras in the sequence that do not share the same timecode. And 1 external audio track.
I followed this tutorial to create the multigroup:

Hi. Sorry no one has responded to you yet. MultiGroup is not used by everyone. I use it all the time.
At first glance, it looks like you are doing everything correctly but I beed a little more information - what version of Media Composer? What kind of computer? Are you on local storage or shared storage? What format are the clips - 1080i59.94? What codec?
Thanks.

Hi, I'm having this same problem as well. It seems to be related to some of our GoPro clips. If I multigroup just the A/B cam and audio, everything looks fine.
What's crazy is that if I set my bin display to show references, all of my subgroups and subclips show up for the multigroup, but I'm only able to access the first subgroup if I clip on the multigroup.
It doesn't happen with every GoPro clip, but I think it's happened about 4 times so far in the last month and it's been driving me nuts.
We're on Avid 8.3.1 (I also tried to group on 8.2 with no luck). Both Mac and PC. ISIS 5000.
All clips have been AMA transcoded to DnX HD 45. 1080p/29.97 project.
Any ideas?
Hey guys,
I stumbled upon a comment on Reddit of all places (by kobfilms) that fixed the issue for me and wanted to share it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/editors/comments/38fexs/multigroup_problem_only_able_to_access_first_group/ctdvf81
In short, deleting LUTs/Color Adapters seems to fix it. I've run into this issue on a variety of footage - some that I've applied LUTs to, and some (GoPro) that's come in with a color adapter automatically.
There doesn't seem to be a patttern as to how or why footage with LUTs groups fine sometimes and not others. I even ran into a group where if I grouped the cameras with the LUTs and external lavs I'd run into the issue mentioned in the first post. But then if I left the lavs out of the group - it grouped fine even with LUTs intact.
So I'm kinda at a loss. This is a terrible, terrible bug.
We are having this same problem in Media Composer 8.6! Any time we apply LUTs to footage it results in multigroups broken the way you described. When we remove the LUTs, the broken multi groups suddenly display and work correctly.
This is a really inconvenient bug! The EP of our show decided to shoot all of our footage Log C and apply LUTs in post. And, of course, now he is complaining that we had to remove them!
Is there a way to submit this to Avid's tech team?
This was supposedly fixed in 8.5.3
Bug Number: MCCET-572. The duration of a sequence might have been wrong if Multigroup clips in the sequence contained a LUT.
So this looks like it has popped up again in 8.7.2 and 8.8 though in a slightly different form.
Now the multigroup will be the correct length, but will only show up as one subgroup. You can even scrub in multicam mode and see all the angles but you may not be able to switch between them. The one subgroup matches your first subgroup, so if the first subgroup doesn't have the other cameras you can't select the additional cameras that pop on later.
Once the LUTS are deleted, the the group behaves normally again.
I am having this issue in 2018.12.0. Removing LUTs does not fix.
