Hi all.  I've bought MC8 and am very happy with everything I have seen so far.  My only worry is that I am struggling to get an output to my client screen via HDMI through my Matrox MX02 mini, which was working fine when I was working from MC6.  I've downloaded the drivers that relate to MC7 from the Matrox site and my Avid sees the hardware (Media Composer Software - MX02 Mini) is what it reads at the header of my avid.  However, underthe special / devices drop down, I only have the firewire option to select.  On the IO hardware select icon above the timeline, I can select / deselect, which stops the audio coming through my computer speakers, suggesting that the process is working some of the way.

Any ideas?

Have you tried the newest matrox drivers (7.6)?

Currently Matrox will only display progressive projects.  I'm pretty sure that in the past it would also handle interlaced, but it certainly doesn't here now.  Could that be your problem?

It's one of the reasons that I'm exploring other options.

So for you the mini mx02 wont display any interlaced pal project in MC8?  What about MC7?  Can anyone else confirm that this is happening?  About to undertake the build ready for 8x and the mxo is our interlaced video output...

No problems here and I´m watching interlaced all the time.

Wanna help with troubleshooting John ?

I had to play with the Matrox AV tools in play back setting then it would work on my machine. Hope this would help.

This is how it always have worked from what i´m aware of, you reach the settings for the Matrox unit under Tools/hardware setup and also in the TV icon at the very bottom, sometimes you have to check that these settings follows eachother ( bug ?? )

Using latest Matrox driver 7,60.1993 with my Mini and MC8, both 1080 50i and 25p works well, this also as info for John

The latest set of drivers sorted me out nicely.  Back on track...thanks guys.
