Wrong format when linking with AMA

    Hi,

I've filmed a number of events using a Sony HXR NX5E camera that uses AVCHD. I've shot it all at 1080p 25.

I've set my project up so that its 1080p/25. When I've linked to the AVCHD files using AMA they show up in my bin as Fromat HD 1080i/50 and Video H.264 (1080i 50). When I imported a small file to test if it was my settings or the original files they imported at the correct format of HD 1080p/25 and Video DNxHD 120 (HD1080p).

I don't know why this is happening and any suggestions why would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Avid Media Composer 7.03 Interplay Edition on a imac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 using OSX10.9

It´s a ( reported ) bug , just add " field motion " to your bin header and switch to progressive, you can do that to all clips at the same time.

The command " refresh sequense " will remove possible automated applied motion adapters.

I just have same issue but field motion shows the clips are progressive

I'm ready to quite day one, why do people shoot sizzle reels if they can't tell me the right info about their own project!

A couple of things to check here, start with analyzing the origin media , Mediainfo , do a google, might be a way.

If the file info in the bin differs from what Mediainfo says, you can also check for yourself what type the media is by, in an interlaced project and ama linked media, step from field to field, you might want to assign a button for this , I have replaced the defaults commands at 3 and 4 with stepping fields instead of stepping frames myself, please follow the above advice to change the properties.
