    Video playback on HDTV

I'm having trouble with Full Screen playback on a 32" LCD monitor that's resolution is 1366 x 768.

I'm running two miniDisplayport monitors for menus & timeline, then have a 3rd monitor connected to the DVI port on my computer's ATI 5770 video card.  The 3 monitors are displaying fine, but I think there's an issue with Avid and the LCD TV's unorthodox resolution.

Any experience in this area as to if/how to achieve video playback on the 3rd (LCD TV) monitor is greatly appreciated.  I want to use it for playback and client viewing.

    Thank you.

if you use minidisplay to DVI adapters then read the note:

Thanks for the note on display configuration.  I worded my question incorrectly.  To restate....

I have 3 monitors displaying correctly via an ATI Radeon 5770.  Two of the monitors are Dell computer monitors with a resolution of  1920x1080 (via MiniDisplayport) and the third monitor is a 32" LCD TV  with a resolution of 1366x768 (via DVI).

When I place the Full Screen Playback 'settings panel' on the third monitor to select it as my Full Screen Playback destination the resolution settings zero out and Full Screen Playback does not work.

I'm thiking that the solution here is to add an i/o component to my system either an external one or a PCIe card.  But before I buy more gear I wanted to check with the community here to see if I could achieve full screen playback on a 1366x768 monitor in AVID MC 7

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

If it's an option, have you tried switching between hardware and software mode?

I've had some issues with FSP as well and I find that sometimes just positioning the 'settings panel' on a different section of the screen before selecting makes a difference.

    Re: Video playback on HDTV

There is an icon above your sequence towards the top right that looks like two gears.  If it's grayed out MC isn't recognizing any hardware in your computer.  If it's not grayed out, try pressing it and it should get a red cross through it, which switches MC from hardware mode to software mode.  We have blackmagic cards for SDI connections and what-nots, but our HDTV is hooked up via HDMI from a graphics card.  In order to get full screen playback from the HDTV, we need to bypass the blackmagic and be in software mode.
