Dual monitors + client monitor on 2013 Macbook Pro Retina

I'm looking to put together an avid dual monitor + client monitor setup on a 2013 Macbook Pro Retina. As I understand it, I should be able to run one monitor via one of the thunderbolt connections and the other daisy chained on an external thunderbolt hard drive that has a second thunderbolt port.

When it comes to avid's client monitor, I'm not exactly sure where to go. I know this laptop has an additoinal hdmi out port, could avid use that for it's clent monitor? I've also been looking through Blackmagic's shuttle / intensity products and Avid's Mojo hardware. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I don't buy the wrong/overkill hardware? Thanks!

I should also mention the only other free port is a USB 3.0 port, so if it was an external device, it would have to run via this not firewire.
