keyboard shortcut for switching to bin window @ mac os

    Hello there, Forum!

i have a simple question : i´d like to program a keyboard shortcut that lets me switch to the bin window, pretty much like the other shortcuts under "tool" (cmd+0 for timeline, cmd+4 for composer etc.).

i usually like to use the keyboard as much as possible, so using the mouse each time to get back to the bin window is a bit annoying. i'm a former final cut pro user and a shortcut for activating the browser window was part of the default keyboard setup in that app.

Thanx for your help, everyone! :)

In version 7 (not sure if it works in earlier versions), create a BIN LAYOUT with the bin you want to select as the active bin. Name the BIN LAYOUT the same name as the bin (it helps to have a standard naming convention of bins for all projects). In the COMMAND PALETTE, select the WORK SPACES tab, assign the BIN LAYOUT to one of those WORKSPACES. Now you can assign that WORKSPACE to any key on the keyboard.

I use the MacOS built-in "show application windows" function (I have it mapped to my Control key on the right side of the keyboard). A quick press of that and I see all open windows (including Bins)

Thank you, this was helpful to me today.  In all the years working on my mac and fumbling around for windows, can't believe I never knew about this feature!  3 finger downward swipe on the trackpad (set in prefs) does the trick.

Added note:  Just found out today that also, Cmd (on mac) plus the ~ key cycles through windows.  Hopefully that's useful for someone out there.
