Downloaded the driver and I'm all hooked up... but I still can't get the client monitor working. Any ideas?
I had some issues with the MXO2 mini when I frist started using it. I called Matrox tech support. They were very patient and helpful in getting me up and running. Their support number is 1-800-361-1408.
Good Luck,
Denny
For MC 6.5.3 make sure you are using matrox driver 7.1 (build 1294).
The secret is definitely in having the right driver. If you have other apps that can also use the Mini you may have to make some hard decisions about which you find the most important. Matrox haven't been great as far as universal compatibility is concerned.
For example, I had serious problems when I originally set up mine, very early on. I had to decide whether Avid or After Effects was more important to me. Nowadays that particular compatibility problem doesn't seem to be an issue, but it definitely was back then.
Sims, may I ask what you're using for a client monitor. I've been running into some problems configuring a BMD Intensity Shuttle but they were actully due to the monior, not the BOB.

I'm using an Asus computer monitor with HDMI inputs
I've got the correct matrox driver installed now (7.1 build 1294) but my client monitor still isn't working... is there anything special I need to do in Avid or elsewhere to get it working?
Any ideas?
Dennys right, call Matrox tech support, they spent 45 minutes setting mine up and it was really more complicated than you can do.

for Matrox tech support. They helped me set up my Mini for a complicated capture problem, ran a remote check on my computer and discovered some system tweaks I needed--and this was on an already Avid qualified computer. Matrox has the best tech support in the business...and it's free!
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g
Clement Canino:Is your computer monitor capable of 1920x1080 resolution? If not it may not work with HDMI, as that is the spec.
For example, a lot of 1920 computer monitors are 1920x1200. Unless the monitor is capable of 1:1 pixel mapping it won't know what to do with a 1920x1080 signal. As well, if you're dealing with 50 Hz images, most computer displays won't operate below 60 Hz. This may also be the cause of your problem.
If any of the above are the cause of your problem you may be looking at buying a new monitor. But before doing that, as others here have said, talk to Matrox support. They are very helpful.
Thanks, guys. Yes, my computer monitor capable of 1920x1080 resolution.
Waiting to call Matrox on Monday since they are not open on the weekends.
I have a daft question for you, are you getting sound out of your MX02 phono sockets? The reason I ask is that many an editor is unaware that you can disable the external MXo2 BOB from the timeline window. I have been called to several suites where the editor has accidently switched it off. The switch sits to the right PPMs and is labelled MX02. It will have a red no entry across from it if it has been disabled. (You can also disable a DX Nitris BOB in the same way).
