Hi
I have a perfectly working MC6.5, and the software for 7 sitting here too. But Im reading loads of posts from people complaining that :-
Sony software isnt available yet (KEY TO ME) and its far from clear to me, if the pre 7 sony ama codec works on mc7
AVCHD importing isnt any better than MC6 (KEY TO ME) Still upstream PIPESTALL errors etc. Which i have now.
and dozens of other little issues.
So my question is, what is contained in mc7 that should really make me install at this time, risking perhaps problems with my currently working system. If i make the install, am i going to love the changes making the risk worthwhile?

If everything is working for you and you need the Sony AMA plugin, then I would recommend waiting until Sony releases their plugin and Avid releases the first update. I put it on my laptop, but will not put it onto our workstations that are in heavy use until some bugs are ironed out. It is always this way with any new software. To me, being on the cutting edge at the expense of downtime and reliability are not worth it. I doubt your clients will care if you are on 6.5 or 7 as long as they love your editing.
