    MC 6.0.1.1 and AJA KiPro

I'm doing a 3 camera production using Panasonic HMC 160 cameras, feeding into a Panasonic HWHS50 HD switcher, recording to KiPro and editing in AVID MC 6.0.1.1

I'm told I will need to purchase and download MacDrive Standard software plugin in order for AVID to read the KiPro drive...then link to AMA and Transcode to DNxHD 145.  Is this the most effecient workflow for my hardware or is there a better way?

Check the KiPro firmware version - newer versions can transfer files over ethernet, thereby negating the drive-format issue.  Give that a try, following the directions in the KiPro manual.

If you are pulling the drive module out and connecting via firewire, then yes, you will need MacDrive.  These are HFS+ (MAC) formatted drives.  I recommend transferring the file to an NTFS formatted drive first and then AMA linking.   OR just simply import.  I have had instances where I could AMA link to files on Mac formatted drives via MacDrive, but they wouldn't show the content of the files.  I would have to transfer the files first to an NTFS drive, then link.

    Aditional Help Needed!

The video from the KiPro drive linked to AMA just fine.  I transcoded video to DNxHD 145...The editing was nice and smooth.  But now I've run into a problem after exporting my timeline as a Quicktime reference...the audio is slightly out of sync with the video...about 1 second off, just enough to notice and drive me nuts.  Any ideas!

According to the specifications you have completed QT version 5.6.9. The MC6 is, I think, supported version 7.7 Thus I began.

Then, as a licensee MC6 you can install it with the repair MC6.0.3 and patch MC6.0.3.4. This is another option.
