Still editing in the "32-bit Dark Ages" using AMC 5.5.3.6 and an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT card, I rolled-the-dice a few hours ago and updated my graphics driver to the latest version 320.18 that includes the newly released "GeForce Experience" which claims: "by tapping into the NVIDIA Cloud, a vast server farm that tests the most popular games across a wide range of hardware configurations. Games are tested across different GPUs, CPUs, and monitor resolutions. Different combinations of graphics settings are evaluated and the settings that produce the best image quality and performance are chosen for each hardware configuration. GeForce Experience takes the guesswork out of setting up your games—click “Optimize” and your games are automatically set with the optimal settings and ready to go." Yes, I know AMC is not a "game," but after updating, my graphics rendering times have decreased in time by approximately 50% with no perceptible conflicts nor downside observed so far. AMAZING performance update to my overall AMC 5.5 experience! I'd like to hear from others at this forum regarding their experience with this driver update.
I could not find the Optimize option.
johnnytex: I didn't even look for the "optimize option." I just did a "clean install," rebooted and left all else default. The much faster rendering speeds in AMC were observed immediately.
??? unless one adds the specific driver info to the certified cards and driver .txt lookup files that MC checks upon bootup, the OpenGL hardware aspects of the Nvidia are not utilized.
