Re: Weird "Update Sequence" colour correction behaviour...

Not using GroupItForMe at all. I'll ask the other AEs

We did recently downgrade from 2018.12.11 -> .8 because of a bug with JKL that bothered the Editor.

    Andi, David and John....

I cloned Andi's case # and added  lot more info and asked support to look at this again and to not pawn if off on GIFM as others are eeing it without that.

David and John - I would like to create a case for you both - are you ok with that?

Re: Weird "Update Sequence" colour correction behaviour...

One thing I can say for sure is that it always happens to clips which have a timewarp on them.

As is always the case, I have added colour corrections using Symphony, closed the sequence - in this case shutting down Avid (although sometimes this will occur after a crash) - and then upon reopening this morning I get the update corrections message and I now have these gaps in the sequence.

The gaps inbetween the audio clips should not be there, this is where Avid has extended the video clips with timewarps above them that you see on V1. I now have to go back and remove these gaps. Sometimes it's quick, other times it's a huge PITA as there are often multiple effects stacked on top and everything needs rejigging.

    Hi Ripvanmarlowe,

I do not know why I haven't come accross your thread before. I had been searching these forums for this issue a long time ago as it is exactly the behaviour seen at one of our customers here in Greece. At the time this was on MC 2018.12.6 - 15 with symphony option in a XDCAM HD 50 project. It was one of those cases where reproducing was complicated as the project running was on tight deadlines and there was little to no time to experiment.

Weirdly I haven't heard from them about this bug for almost a year. I will ask if it still occurs as it is a real pain.

Re: Weird "Update Sequence" colour correction behaviour...

    Hey Jeroen,

I had a case open but had it closed as they were unwilling to look in to it further because i used Groupitforme to group my sequences. The intros that it happens on though don't contain any grouped clips and it's something that starts only after a crash or shutdown so it is definitely not groupitforme. Marianna kindly reopened a case but I think that also got closed down due to lack of activitiy on my part even though I was told that I didn't need to do anything as they were looking in to it. So I have no idea really where I stand with this.

Happens to me regularly. Wish I could upgrade to a newer version but Avid's bungling of the title tool means I have to stay where I am as I have multipe old sequences which heavily use the classic title tool. So stuck between a rock and a hard place really.

Re: Weird "Update Sequence" colour correction behaviour...

    Hi Andi,

Groupitforme wasn't used at this site. I was hoping to be able to test it once in relation to performance problems with multicam they were seeing but that never happened. I wanted to open a case and asked the editor to share screenshots/video when the issue occured as I believed support would not be able to help without it. That also never happened and I understand support's problem with a case like this and closing yours.

The title tool saga by itself could be the subject of the next horror movie by Stephen King. Like you wrote those needing it are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Re: Weird "Update Sequence" colour correction behaviour...

Hi Marianna. Same behaviour here, as described in this thread. I have the latest Avid MC Symphony 2022.12. Various projects, same problem - when using timewarp and CC, after restarting avid message

    and then

Before colour corrections, timeline was fine.

Another project had a problem with gaps.

Ruined few hours of work :(

    Please, help.

    Thank you.
