I always export a QT reference to Squeeze, and then build my DVD in AvidDVD - however I want to move away from Avid DVD and move to Encore.
I've always relied on Avid DVD to convert my .wav audio into Dolby Digital - however I don't see any way for Squeeze to do this automatically. Squeeze doesn't seem to have a Dolby Digital option for DVD conversion.
So, how do I do this?
Thanks!
I spend most of my time between New York and Los Angeles. In Nebraska.
In Squeeze, transcode the audio to "AC-3". This is Dolby Digital.

I have looked and looked within Sqeeze, and yet in the DVD setting, I only have 2 options for the audio codec - MPEG Layer 2, and Mpeg PCM. Neither seems to be Dolby Digital.
What could I be doing wrong here? Is this perhaps a missing feature in Squeeze "lite"?

Looks like you're right. I just looked in Squeeze 8 (lite) and it's not there.
Atomike,
Have you been successful in sending a QT REF file from MC6 to Squeeze 7 lite? I have not been able to do it (I am sending to Squeeze 8 Lite.)
To help in your problem, looks like for now you might have to do two efforts... one for vide and the other to Avid DVD for the Dolby ac.3 stream.

David:Is your media AMA linked? If so, that would explain why the QT ref fails.

No it is not AMA linked. It is merely HDV digitized directly into MC (5.0 at the time). Sending To an HDV setting, as opposed to QT Ref, seems to get the job done though. And if I use Adobe Media Encoder I can get my needed ac.3 file in one step. Still, "Sending to a QT Ref would probably be much faster. Currently I am testing with 1 minute sequences.
Thanks for the reply.

JWRL - is that the 'pro' Squeeze 8 product I see on their website (the one for $699)? I wonder if we can upgrade from the full Squeeze 8 to one with the 5.1 Dolby Digital encoder - I see no mention of this option on their website...
Actually, they do have a Squeeze 7 to Squeeze 8 Dolby Pro price for $249 but I don't see the Squeeze 8 (full) to Squeeze 8 Dolby Pro (what's the matter with those folks?).
