This may be a dumb question, but I cannot find the super bin setting anymore. How do I enable or use Super Bin in MC6.
I made a jump from 4.x to MC6 so I'm not sure where things are.

There is no superbin in MC6. You now nest bins with tabs. Have a look at the manual or help file.

Thanks! One more thing, where is Transcode in MC6? I couldn't find under any drop down menu.
Right click on a sequence or a clip in a bin and you will see a menu where you will find the Consolidate/Transcode option.

Is there a setting to make one window act like a superbin - i.e. open any bin as a new tab in the one window, instead of defaulting to opening a new window?
Dragging a bin to my bin window instead of just clicking on it is going to be very, very annoying.
Kenton.VanNatten:Does no one read ReadMEs or the Manuals anymore?
I was thinking the same thing - it's not as if you'd have to read the whole manual, either - just open the MC PDF and search for <topic> ;-)
Not picking on anyone specifically - heck, I've even found myself asking questions here that were answered clearly in the manual - just getting lazy, I guess.

This is the topic of another thread as well - since it seems that the bin location / layout is a project setting... not a user setting. I like the idea of having a superbin mode that automatically opens the bin in the main bin tabbed windows - I haven't played with this much so I'm not entirely sure that there isn't such a mode.
This is very frustrating.
Avid, you've designed a nice tabbed interface for your bin windows, why have you left out the most obvious way to take advantage of it?
Until there's a setting to automatically open bins in an existing window, this is actually a step back in functionality. Superbin worked fine (was basically tabs via a drop-box). Give it back.

+1
In fact there is. Select all bins and by right click choose open all bins in the same window.
(Once done it's almost the same as superbin but with double click at each bin afterwards)

Thanks George - that looks like a decent interim solution.
Hopefully Avid will stick a Superbin style option in soon though - for those projects with a lot of bins, it'd be nice to only have bins helpfully added as I need them (as was the case pre-MC6).
Swil,
this is better than Superbin.
I was a big fan of Superbin till this one.
I am always working with Superbins at my projects.
Tab browsing can't be corrupted like some times superbin does.
For example when you mixdown some times the Superbin doesn't work as it should
and it opens another window out of the superbin.
Now this is history.
Oh yeah I think tabs are a better way - I just want bins to automatically open in the one window instead of defaulting to a new one :)
Did they ever?
