    Problems installing MC6

    Hello

I've downloaded the MC6 Trial version, and I installed it (only Media composer, none of the other softwares included in the package)

Once installed, I can't launch it : no splash screen, only blank screen, with absolutely nothing displayed, I have to shutdown the process to stop it (haaving a message telling me that Editor doesn't respond or something like this

My computer is brand new : I had a previous installation of pinnacle Studio but I uninstalled it before installing MC6. I have WIN 7 64 bits with SP, a GTX 560 Ti GPU and 6 GB / 1 TB HD

    Thank you for your advices

    Re: Problems installing MC6

    Hello, welcome to the club
I've tried everything, like you had it installed Avid Studio.
the only solution I found was after many attempts to format and reinstall your operating system
I'm sorry I have not found other solution
Fortunately, after reinstalling everything went smoothly and I saw the introductory screen MC6
This is very annoying we hope that this problem revolves, as often occurs,
already in other forums I have noticed this kind of problem.
I hope I was of help

    Re: Problems installing MC6

I'm sorry you've had trouble.  Formattting should not be necessary.  Please follow these steps and let me know if that resolves the problem.

    1. Delete ALL folders and files on your computer named "pixie."  Make sure you're seeing all files and folders including hidden and system folders and files.  When you have deleted those files and folders, reboot.

    2. Reinstall MC.  When you've reinstalled MC, reboot.

    3. Start MC.

    Re: Problems installing MC6

This problem with the Pixie file/folder is not supposed to be a problem with MC6 from what I understand, but I have read a number of people that have encountered this sort of problem resolve it by installing the correct video driver.  Check to insure you have the correct version of Quicktime and the correct video driver installed then try to reinstall MC6...

    Good Luck!

It is not a certified card. Only Quadro cards are certified on a PC. That does not mean it will not work but it may not work correctly. Also, check that you have the correct version of Quicktime installed. For MC6 that is 7.7.

Yeah, looks like 7.7 has been pulled so 7.7.1 should be OK.
