Hi
Can I install avid studio on the same disk as MC 6, without affecting/corrupting MC6?
No, why would you want to. All avid software includes Avidfx, AvidDVD and Sorenson Squeeze.
Yes, you can safely install Avid Studio and MC6 on the same system. Starting with MC6, there are no conflicting registration files as there were with previous versions of MC.

Sorry, I forgot about the new Avid Studio, I was thinging of Avid Studio Xpress.
thank's for your quick help...very much appreciated...:D

Hi Lewis, I saw your comment yet I just installed MC6 after uninstalling MC5.5 and I still get the pixie licensing app crash error when I try to start MC6 with my Avid Studio 1 installed on the same system. Do you know if there's a certain installation sequence you need to follow in order for both programs to function?
I think you meant to install MC6 first and then Avid Studio...that's what I did and it works...
Hi Lew,
Is there a way to run MC6 and Liquid 7 on the same drive? Liquid and MC5 played well together but MC6 white screens unless I remove all Pixie files. Then Liquid displays DEMO on the bottom and I cannot output anything. Still have all of the Pixie files in the trash bin so I can restore them if that makes sense somehow.

Actually Liquid and MC 5.5 did not play well together. In fact, they did not play at all. That has been fixed.
Yes, you could put Liquid and MC6 on the same install of Win 7 but be aware that Liquid does not run properly under Win 7 and I recommend against it.
Thanks Lew,
I had 5.0 not 5.5 and for limited use it seemed to work. I was hoping to be able to use Liq to output a VCD file on an SD card for loop playback in a portable dvd player for a demonstration project. What would I have to do to get Liq to work even on a limited basis? I looked at reinstalling the Pixie files to their original folders but got a message that a file by that name already exists. I did not want to take the chance of screwing up MC6 so aborted.
Yes, Liquid will work in a limited fashion on Win 7. TDK Pro and the colorcorrection tool do not work. Otherwise, it appears the rest of Liquid works OK. Be aware that Liquid and Avid Studio use the same registration scheme, so you could have issues if you try to remove one of them later.
Thanks Lew.
After all of my mucking around and reinstalling Liq. 7.2 and getting it to work with MC6 I discovered that I could do what I want by editing in MC, output a QT reference file and Squeeze 7 will generate my VCD or SVCD file. Liquid was nice in that you could do everything from within the program. Ahh the good old days. Question, If I remove Liquid will I muck up MC? When I removed the Pixie files to get MC 6 to run I messed up my Sorenson registration file so it will not let me download the MP3 plug-in so I'm a little nervous about removing things.
You should be able to remove Liquid without affecting MC as they now use a slightly different registration system. I don't know about Sorenson.
Thanks for all this Know how, I have running now MC6 and Avid Studio on my 64 bits system, but because I know almost everything "how to do in in" Liquid I like to have also this on my system, but first I try to do the things into MC because this is now my future NLE.(but difficult to learn all the tricks again)[:'(]
