    Trimming MC6

So I'm using the trim tools on mc6, is it supposed to preview what your about to overwrite or trim in the player windows, because when i do all i see is the numbers on the window that say how far im going, e.g. -12 etc., the preview hangs on one frame, but when i finish the edit it works, i just cant preview it. is this supposed to happen. the preview works when im sliding a clip with the overwrite tool to replace another portion of a clip though, it shows me which part im going to overwrite, thats what i dont get.

Yes. I have seen this also. I will escalate it to Avid. Instead of using the trim rollers on the timeline, use the keyboard trim keys or use the trim buttons in the trim editor. You should see the viewers update when you do this.

I'm having this same issue as well.  It's the first big bug I've found with v6.

okay i have found a fix. im not really sure if this is still a bug BUT in the viewer/canvas window, click on the trim mode button, then when your in trim mode, right click the viewer/canvas window and click on trim mode settings, then click on the Features button, select "Render on the fly" and deselect "Dual Image Play" if its selected. itll update as you trim using your mouse now.

    Re: Trimming MC6

It may work, but it's an awfully roundabout way to do something that should be simple.  I hope this bug is in the 100+ fixes being addressed at the moment.

    Re: Trimming MC6

I am pretty sure it will be but for now this is a workaround until it is resolved.

I get this too - iMac on 10.6.8. I thought I'd tweaked the Trim Settings but I'll go back and try the fix.

    Re: Trimming MC6

It's a BUG and a big one at that.

This is not the way trim mode is supposed to work, nor shold one have to do all these contortions to make it work.

Ought to be fixed, better be fixed!!!!!!
