I've used Media Composer for many, many years and for many of those years I happily created subclips and used the Consolidate command to copy the media and create new Master clips, while deleting the original media. It worked fine. Now for a while (I can't recall when this started) I get the following garbled message. I am NOT transcoding, I am consolidating, and the wording of the alert message is not at all clear. In tests, there appears to be no difference in the outcome. In fact I have no idea how to interpret it! I'd love to hear from the person who programmed this nonsense!

Hey Roger
I have a case going on this and support will check it out but it looks like a message bug. I dont know who actually coded the subclip portion of the code but I offered to find out if the tech needs me too...
Hang in there....

And if you bang them all into a new sequence and consolidate that sequence, it doesn't work either?
Consolidating a sequence works as expected. Avid have opened a case on this.
